CERESLabs Secures Cannabis Lab License Filling Testing Void in Central Coast

Greenfield, CA – At its June 12 meeting, the Greenfield City Council issued its first cannabis testing laboratory license to CERESLabs. Greenfield, located in California’s Central Coast, has issued multiple cultivation, manufacturing and distribution licenses but this is the only lab license in the city. Sal Palma, owner of Higher Level, a Dispensary chain in Monterey County, notes, “We are really happy to see CERESLabs in the area.  Come July 1st, all of the products we sell must pass the testing standards mandated by state regulators.  Having a first-class testing lab so close to our distributors will insure we don’t have supply shortages due to longer turnaround times”.

Now that they have been granted their license, CERESLabs is on schedule to open their doors within the next few months. CERESLabs, formed by CEO Sachin Barot and COO Denis Chen, has a mission is to become the global leader in cannabis analytical research and laboratory testing. Greenfield is their first lab in California and according to Barot, “The timing is perfect. We’re poised to quickly create a state-of-the-art cannabis analytical research and testing operation in an area that needs us. The next steps are the build-out of the lab and the on-boarding of key talent.”

CERESLabs will initially focus on a client base in the Salinas Valley. Greenfield is located in the heart of the Valley with easy access to the large-scale cultivation areas in Monterey county and Fresno.  The area has already developed an infrastructure that allows cannabis cultivation to thrive.  Many of the largest vertically integrated license holders in California have their operations in this area.

“It’s an exciting time for us and for our investors as we step in to fill this testing void,” states Barot.
